Year three of the BCSC’s fraud awareness campaign kicked off Investor Education Month this week with four new TV commercials and a partnership announcement with the Vancouver Canucks.
In this year’s commercials, we are introducing a new character, Jean, who challenges the fictional fraudster David and exposes his scamming ways.
These new Be Fraud Aware commercials show how an empowered, knowledgeable investor, like Jean, can disrupt and stop a fraudster from harming others.
The Canucks Game commercial will run mostly on Rogers Sportsnet during 47 Canucks home games this season. The other three new TV spots – Coffee Shop, Investment Seminar, and Two Faced 2 – run on Global, CTV, CBC, and the Knowledge Network, plus community channels in Kelowna and Kamloops, Prince George, and on Vancouver Island.
When you visit befraudaware.ca, you will also see a new interactive webpage, which shows Jean disrupting David’s sales pitches. If you select the Chinese and Punjabi language pages, you will see how Jean is portrayed in these key communities.
Just click on the warning sign on David’s flip chart to see what Jean has to say about that!
